Louis Vuitton City Guide: Los Angeles

After months in the making, we’re thrilled to share that the Louis Vuitton City Guide: Los Angeles is out and includes a beautiful profile on Sunset Marquis in its 2019 edition!

Included within the Hotel section of the book, Sunset Marquis is highlighted for being the only authentic music hotel left in Los Angeles while the placement goes on to detail the North Villa renovations. NightBird and Bar 1200 are also mentioned.

The prestigious Louis Vuitton City Guides have established themselves as the ultimate travel companions, bringing to life the world’s most fascinating cities for business and leisure travelers alike. Securing a placement within this publication is extremely difficult, which makes this a huge win for Sunset Marquis!

Hotels Where You Can Rock Out Like Britney, Aerosmith, and Drake – Travel + Leisure

In a town known for big acts (and sometimes even bigger egos), this West Hollywood icon comes from relatively humble beginnings. When writer/producer Jed Leiber and guitarist Jeff Beck were holed up in a room and making a bit too much noise working on new material, the hotel manager offered them a laundry chamber in the basement so they could riff in peace. Since then, an impressive list of rock, pop, country, and reggae artists — Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Keith Urban, and Damian Marley to name a few — have followed suit.

Eye on LA explores spots to hang out like a rock star

The Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood has housed some of the biggest stars in music since its opening in 1964. Many record companies were once located on Sunset Boulevard, so musicians needed a place to stay nearby. Thus the birth of the Sunset Marquis, which even has a recording studio, Nightbird Studios, for those late night jam sessions. And you don’t have to be a rock star to stay at the Sunset Marquis, but walking through the hotel makes you feel like you’re walking through a rock ‘n’ roll museum! They also offer live music so this is one true legendary spot that will make you feel like a rock star!
